Bread bonda

Ingredients:
White bread slices: 10
Potatoes: 3-4 boiled n mashed
Oil for deep frying
Green peas: 1/2 cup(optional)
Green chillies: 4
Onions: 1 finely chopped
Lemon juice: 2tbs
Ginger garlic paste: 1/2 tbs
Curry leaves: 1 string(optional)
Coriander to garnish
Cumin seeds: 1 tbs
Mustard seeds: 1/2 tbs
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tbs
Garam masala: 1 tbs(optional)
Oil: 2-3tbs


Method:


  • Heat 2-3tbs of oil in a pan, add mustard seeds n when they splutter add cumin seeds,curry leaves n fry them.
  • Once they are fried add chopped onions n green chilies n fry till onions turn light brown color then add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric,garam masala powder, salt n green peas n mix them well.Let it cook for 5min till the green pea becom tender.
  • Add the mashed potatoes n lemon juice to the above masala n mix it throughly.
  • After 2 min remove the potato masala from heat n let it to cool to the room temperature.
  • Now make soft round balls from the potato masala equaling to the number of bread slices.
  • Take the bread slices, remove the sides from them, wet those slices in water n lightly squeeze the water from each slice n stuff each slice with prepared potato masala ball.
  • Fold the bread to cover the stuffing n bring it to a round shape n repeat the same with the remaining bread slices.  
  • Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat.
  • Carefully fry all the potato bread balls one by one till they turn into light golden color.




Serve hot bread bondas with red n green chutney or with tomato ketchup.
