Vegetable manchurian




Ingredients:


Cabbage: 2 cups grated
Capsicum pepper: 1 cup finely chopped
Carrots: 2 cups grated
Cauliflower: 1 cup
Chilli paste: 2 tbs or chillies finely chopped
Garlic: 5-6 pods finely chopped
Ginger: 1 tbs grated
Corn flour: 3 tbs
Boiled rice: 1cup
Onion: 1 large finely chopped
Pepper powder: 1 tbs
Salt to taste
Soya sauce: 2 tbs
Spring onion: Finely chopped
Sugar: 1 tbs
Coriander to garnish
Oil to deep frying

Method:

  • Boil the cabbage, cauliflower, capsicum n carrot togeather and throughly squeez out the excess water.
  • Now to the squeezed vegetables add corn flour(to absorb the moist content), boiled rice(it is used to bind the vegetables), green chilli paste n salt n mix them.
  • Make small balls(golf ball sized) out of the mixture, deep fry these balls n keep it aside.
  • Heat 3 tbs of oil in a seperate pan, to this add garlic, ginger n onions n saute them.We can even add chopped green chillies, its optional.
  • Once the onions are fried add soya sauce n let it cook for 2 min. Later add salt, sugar n pepper powder n saute them n let cook for 5-6 min.
  • Add the chopped spring onions n mix them well, after a min add the fried vegetable balls n garnish with coriander.
Note: If you wish to have more saucy type of manchurian then can add 2 cups of water once the onions are fried along with sugar n pepper powder n bring it to a boil. In a small bowl mix a spoon of corn flour into 1/2 cup of cold water n mix it to the boiling gravy n u will have the saucy manchurian ready. Serve it hot with raw onions n sweet n sour sauce!!
