Jolada Rotti / Jowar Roti

Ingredients:
Jolada hittu / jowar flour: 2 cups
Water: 1 cup
Pinch of salt

Method:
  •  Boil water in a Vessel.
  •  Add 1 cup of Jowar flour into boiling water n add salt .Mix it well as it should not form any lumps.
  • Remove the vessel from stove n add the remaining flour n mix it, if it is hot to touch u can dip ur hands in normal water n kneed it like u do it for any other rotis.
  •  Now make small dough balls n dust the surface or the place on which u wish to make rotti with some dry flour as to avoid dough sticking to the base.
  • Start preparing the rotti by pressing/beating the dough ball with ur palm on a flat surface.Usually we beat/press the rotti with our right hand n left hand keeps rotating the rotti.
  • Once the rotti is done carefully transfer it to the tava and brush the surface with wet cloth. This brushing with wet cloth removes the dry flour that is on the surface which we had used while pressing the rotti.
  • Roast it for 2-3 min on each sides or until it turns light golden brown on both sides.
Serve the rottis with ghee, curry and chutney powder.
Note: You can even use rolling pin/belan to press the rottis and rest the procedure is same.
